Shooting Star Services - The more you put into something the more you get out!
Welcome

Shooting Stars Services is operated and maintained by myself, C. April Franz. This website is a work in progress and will be continually updated with new information regarding various topics of interest and services that I provide.

I graduated from Northwest Connecticut Community College in January of 2010 with a degree in General Studies. I originally intended to graduate as a Veterinary Technician but was unable to do so due to the canceling of the program. Animals are a passion and way of life for me.  I worked at the Suffield Veterinary Hospital from the summer of 2004 until winter of 2010, when I married my husband and moved with him. I started out in the kennel but then worked as a Veterinary Technician assisting the Veterinarians and helping with the animals.  My life has always had animals in it. When I was young I lived across the street from a ten horse stable. Upon entering high school I studied animal science at the Suffield Regional Vocational Agricultural school. I became a member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and in October 2009 received the highest degree, the American Degree. This is a national degree that is presented to a small minority of its members.

I lived with my husband in upstate NY. We have 2 very nice cats, Snuggles and Phil, a chinchilla named Chin Chew, and now we have a Shetland sheep dog named Dobby (yes just like from harry potter), and a Belgian Malinois named Quint.  My parents still have the family dog, a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog named Mel and 20 Guinea Pigs.

While my husband and I were in upper state NY, we didn't want to get a puppy in an apartment, but really needed a dog in our life.  We decided to foster dogs for a local humane association (Capital District Humane Association).  We have had 3 great dogs; Buddy who was a a big love we had a lot of fun going for walks and going to the dog park and playing ball(he LOVES his ball) ; Miss foxy who was a good dog she just needed some work which I worked very hard to try and changed her bad behaviors; and Tallulah who was a Chihuahua dog.  She was a great dog who loved to sit in you face wile you were watching TV.  All the dogs we helped were great dogs and I hope that they all live a long happy life in there new homes.

We are now living in Port Orchard WA.  Please email me if you have any questions about anything.
